Hooper, Richard

The image is a posterised graphic of a exhibition welcome message domed disc with the 'Hello World' text machined into the surface of the disc using a Computer Numerically Controlled Milling Machine. The medium is Yellow Methyl methacrylate (MMA). The image bowed the 'Hello World' message from the world of computer programming where novice programmers do a 'Hello World' programme to prove their ability to code instructions so as to have the monitor spell out 'Hello World' statement. This text was used as a welcome message for visitors to an exhibition of Digital Sculpture.
